While some of you may come to the club with a long history of boating, the club is open to all even if you have never driven a boat before.

Our Crew

One of our founders had never driven a boat before the club, the other is a life long captain of super yachts who knows all there is to know when it comes to boats. Together their experiences have shaped the club into a place where those new to boating get all the help they need to obtain their licence (a legal requirement to use the club boats) and feel completely confident taking their friends and family out for fun days on the water.

What does the training involve?

To use the club boats you need to hold either the English RYA Power Boat level 2 or the French ‘Cotier’ qualification. To obtain either of these qualifications you have to sit a 2 or 3 day course with a local training centre. We have excellent relationships with these centres and can help organise your course and even give you some pointers on board before you start and then once you are qualified we can offer more assistance with anything you still feel uncertain about.

In short, with club membership comes all the help you need to feel 100% happy on the water in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment where you can learn at your own pace.

The courses train you in low speed manoeuvrers in port, man overboard, the ‘rules of the road’ (ie who gives way to who when at sea) and other emergency procedures

Both courses will typically cost less than €400 and will typically last two or three days.
